Lima Day 2

Friday was our second and last day in Lima and was spent touring and shopping. We walked around the Barranca area which was once where all the artists lived, though now it is an upscale area.

We walked over to the coast and this picture shows the weather we have experienced in Lima, very overcast skies which we are told is typical.

Then we did some shopping and bought some good alpaca clothing - sweaters, scarves, hats, gloves. Then we stopped to have a delicious lunch at a local place specializing in seafood.

We walked around the main square and visited the oldest continuously occupied house in Lima (still occupied but with rooms open to the public).

Finally we joined our tour group for dinner. On Saturday we fly to Cusco to visit the Sacred Valley. It appears that the problems from the protests have subsided and we should have no problem visiting Machu Pichu on Monday.
