Ollantaytambo

Sunday we visited Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. This place is famous for its Incan construction. They quarried huge stones on a nearby mountain, transported them to this hill, and put them together with such precision without any form of mortar that they are seamless. The place consists of buildings and terraces for planting where the terraces are constructed so that water flowing from the top transits each terrace before spilling to the next terrace below.

On the way back we got to do some shopping where we bought a decorated gourd and two watercolors.

And stopped to admire the view.
