We arrived in Lima, Peru last night about midnight after our 8 hour flight from L.A. The hotel is very nice and has very fast internet. The room is fairly standard with not much of a view. We are here three nights before flying to Cusco.
This morning we swam in the hotel pool which is very warm then at 12noon we were picked up by our guide Cindy and taken on a food tour that started at a locals food market.
We then had lunch at a place that specializes in Peru's number one dish and Steph's favorite: roast chicken. I had the beef heart which is another speciality but not one of my favorites.
Then we walked around and admired the architecture, especially the ornate balconies.
Then we ended our afternoon with a dessert specialty from a street food cart which is made from black corn (see picture above in the food market).
Tonight we see a fountain show before going to dinner.
